A girl wins a little bear at the fair, then watches as he grows bigger with the passing seasons. As he outgrows rucksacks, furniture and eventually the family home, the girl grows alongside him — until it’s time for the bear to say goodbye.

THE FORGOTTEN TOYS
When I was little the ideas in picture books stayed with me long after the final page. I would stare out the window wishing my snowman alive, or lie in bed imagining what it would be like to open all my easter eggs, birthday, and Christmas presents at once – just like Charlie Dragon did. Years later, my love for picture books was reignited, when reading to my own two children.With a background in graphic design and a love of traditional painting, I create colourful, atmospheric illustrations. My style blends painted textures and collage with digital techniques. Ultimately, I want to create picture books that spark little imaginations and find a lasting place in a child’s world. One of my favourite things is seeing my own children use ideas from books in their play – like checking if their teddy bear has grown and measuring him against the wall.Based in Rutland, I work as a freelance graphic designer. I graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in Design from Nottingham Trent University, completed a creative writing course in 2022, and recently gained an oil painting diploma in 2024.
